Blog #6, Fall 2025

Monday mia and I got brunch which was super yummy! We went for a walk around the neighborhood and got dinner and dessert with Emma. It’s almost starting to feel like fall out. Tuesday we started class with moving the wood the university dropped off for us into the kiln pad. I then mixed some of that high iron clay body and let it out to dry on some plaster. While that set up I worked on the base of a new vessel. I used the baby extruder that Brian made with the caulk gun to make even little coils that would fill the cut outs. It was working great until the 3D printed die broke. I ended up getting the grooves filled and decided to be done after that. We met up with a couple of friends for burgers and ice cream to end the day. Thursday I spent class slipping my big amphora as well as some tester cups for an upcoming soda. I think the piece is done now it’s time to slowly dry it. I pinched some little cups and then had to leave class and go straight to work. Saturday morning emma and I left for the Indiana clay conference since we had work Friday night. The conference was great we got to see so many demos as well as work from all over. I had a great time looking at the kilns on campus as well as tim’s office. I took a lot away from the conference and am excited to get back to the studio and work out some ideas.
