Blog #11, Fall 2025
Had a dirtbags meeting about the wood kiln, and I made a checklist and schedule, and we talked about planning for that. During class, Hailey helped me work on a stamp for one of my pieces, and I finished up building both of the bases I started last week that day, since I didn’t have work. I wanted to stay longer after class, but a plane crashed! So I figured I would wrap up early and head home to make sure everything was ok. Wednesday, I didn’t get into the studio but made a really nice dinner and had a great off day. Thursday, I used a mini projector I bought on sale to project an aerial map of Herman, Missouri (where my family farm is located), and after I had it drawn out in a needle tool, I used a flashing slip to fill in the lines. That was rather tedious and took the whole class. Any days I’ve had off from work, I have also been using to get materials together for grad apps.
