Blog #2, Fall 2025

I started this week with throwing with some friends. I had some coworkers that wanted to learn so I spent the off day teaching them. I threw 2 big bowls for my boss who wants some for catering gigs. Then Monday night we had the new post baccs over for dinner and ice cream which was nice to get to know everyone better. Tuesday we had class and reviewed half of the semester plans. I didn't have time for much else in class, but it was nice to get feedback on my semester plan and hear some of what other people are planning and thinking. Wednesday I had work and wasn't able to make it into the studio. I am hoping to get Thursday off soon so I can have a better work school balance. Thursday we went over everyone else’s plans and it got me thinking about my own work. I just pinched some cups during class time to have some practical test tiles for the semester. I am thinking a lot about slip applications and building up the texture of my work more. I worked the rest of the weekend so had lots of time to think about what I am doing with my work this semester and am hoping to spend all day Tuesday in the studio to get started on some of these ideas.
