Blog #4, Fall 2025

New week! Monday started off the week strong with a rot day with mia. Honestly really needed the rest felt nice to not have anything for once. Tuesday we had class and I continued working on the piece I started last week. Its shape is based on an amphora from Egypt. I also had the crockpot set up enough to cut out air flow sections. After class we had a makeathon and I threw a couple of bowls before I had to leave for my throwing class that I teach on Tuesday’s. My schedule had only allowed me to be in the studio on days that we have class right now so I didn’t work again until Thursday. During class I finished the base of the amphora and started to map out the handles which took me longer than I would like to admit. I left them over the weekend to set up since they are quite large. If they were too soft when attached they would warp and break. I slipped the crockpot and called it a day. I didn’t get back into the studio due to work but had a pretty successful week of making.
